Operations Lead (AWS)

Remote anywhere in the UK

As Operations Lead you will take ownership of building the infrastructure and observability of all FinLegal products.
Using your experience you will report to and work closely with the Operations and Architecture Director providing input across multiple product teams, contributing beyond assigned tasks and adjusting priorities when appropriate.

About you

  • Experience in enabling a DevOps culture by participating in team with developers

  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining cloud native applications

  • Ready to work in a small and fast-growing organization.

Main responsibilities and duties

  • Actively seek ways to improve software development processes and interactions between services internally and externally.

  • Assessing the efficiency of technologies, frameworks, and solutions in light of industry innovation & best practices.

  • Provide guidance and roadmapping for technology changes and choices.

  • Providing guidance to product teams about what is possible given the current goals.

  • Collaborate with development teams on needs to enable further optimization of CI/CD pipelines and creation of new ones.

  • Collaborate with development teams on needs for observability to allow individual development teams to monitor and diagnose production issues.

  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.

  • Ensure access and security by increasing the observability of the application.

  • Troubleshoot issues (performance, bugs, etc) that are escalated or observed in the platform.

  • Being proactive, self-motivated, attentive to detail, with the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Being a team player and role model, exhibiting a professional attitude, building work relationships, demonstrating flexibility, and supporting workplace ethics.


Skills

Essential:

  • Good experience with Amazon Web Services in general and management with them as an infrastructure as code approach.

  • Good knowledge of relational databases and building scalable applications with large SQL data sources.

  • Knowledge of Document Databases.

  • Docker - building and deploying containers in a cloud environment as well as a local development environment.

  • An organized, efficient individual capable of working in a high trust, fast paced environment.

    ○ Codebuild, CodeDeploy,
