Why did you join FinLegal? What do you like about working here?
It’s a very talented team with a wide range of projects and technologies to work on. The company has grown very quickly and has a strong client-base with opportunities for diversity of work.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
MEng in Computer Science, with 7 years of commercial development experience. I am a full-stack C# and JavaScript Senior Developer.

What's been your favourite project/challenge so far?
Bringing myself up to speed with Blazor on the case-sites project. Quite a learning curve, but it's nice to be in an environment where I am given the chance to expand my skill-set and learn new things.

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I like practising piano, miniature painting and wargaming, and playing cooperative games online. I am also a keen walker, especially in the nearby Peak District.

What are your three favourite books or films or podcasts?
My favourite films include The Lord of the Rings (they count as one), as well as Alien (1979). I also enjoy reading anything Science-Fiction or Sci-Fi-Horror.

Why did you join FinLegal? What do you like about working here?
When I joined there were 8 people in the entire company and they had managed to produced so much. It was something I really wanted to be a part of. We are using the very latest technology, .Net 6 and Blazor and have built up a great team and culture here.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
I have been a software developer for over 15 years working on software solutions in a variety of different industries, including Healthcare, Legal and Retail. I worked on the website for one of the UK's largest high street retailers.

What's been your favourite project/challenge so far?
Converting our case sites to Blazor. It is brand new technology so it was a great challenge trying to figure out how to make the best use of it in order to provide a repeatable solution.

What do you like to do outside of work?
These days I'm mostly a chauffeur for my 8 year old daughter, who is a competitive cheerleader and spends about 8 hours a week in the gym. Before that I used to love going dancing. I have learnt many different styles of partner dance and always enjoyed meeting new people and learning new dances. I also like to spend some time playing on my playstation, and I have two dogs which require a lot of walking.

What are your three favourite books or films or podcasts?
Can I count Terry Pratchett's Discworld series as one book or do I need to pick a favourite? If so it would be ‘Guards! Guards!’. Also ‘Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy’ (books and radio series, not a big fan of the movie version) and ‘The Blues Brothers’ (1980).
